Every week, I walk into a different department store, sit myself right in that makeup chair, and let one of the beauty girls work their magic. It’s become my little ritual — simple, relaxing, and honestly one of the best confidence boosts I’ve found. I don’t book appointments or make a big production out of it. I just show up, let them dust and blend and brighten me up, and I always tip because they take their time and treat me right.
-----There’s something about getting made up by someone else that hits different. Each store has its own vibe. One gives me soft and natural, another goes bold with the eyes, and sometimes I walk out looking like I’m ready for a night out even if I’m just heading home. It’s fun seeing how each artist sees my face and brings out something new.
-----These weekly makeovers aren’t about being fancy — they’re about feeling good. Feeling taken care of. Feeling like I’m allowed to treat myself without needing a reason. I walk out with a fresh face, a little glow, and a reminder that confidence doesn’t come from a fancy college or a big budget. Sometimes it comes from a makeup chair in the middle of a department store, a friendly artist, and a small tip that says “thank you for making me feel good today.”
